“Lasta-Public Transport”

1. General:

“Lasta – Public Transport”, as Lasta’s youngest business organization, was founded at the end of 2005. The immediate cause for its foundation was the inclusion of Lasta into the public transport system in Belgrade. Since January 1, 2006, passengers are transported on 8 daily public transport lines, and from 1.7.2009. on 5 night city line, in Belgrade by buses from this business organization. Lasta has 66 vehicles in the public transport. Passenger transport runs according to the official timetable with interval schedule obtained from GSP Belgrade – Belgrade Public Transport Company.
This business organization was founded based on modern European principles for the organization of transport companies, where the number of employees per vehicles does not exceed 3 (2.74, i.e. 184 employees and 67 vehicles). Some tasks are assigned to employees from technical services and services of other business organizations within Lasta, in order to offer a high-quality passenger transport service in Belgrade, to which the passengers throughout the country have already got used when speaking of such a renowned transport company as “Lasta” a.d. Belgrade is.

2. Lines:

After the conclusion of the Tender for the Award of Transport Lines, i.e. the award of public, passenger, transport services, Lasta was awarded the following lines: 15, 16, 17, 18, 78, 83, 95 and 551 with 67 vehicles – 36 articulated and 23 single – and 8 stand-by vehicles.

On lines:
15 (Zeleni Venac – Zemun/Novi grad/) and
78 (Banjica II – Zemun/ Novi grad/) single buses (IK-103) are used,
551 ( Beograd – Velika Moštanica) are engaged solo vehicles (IK-103 and LIAZ)
and on lines:
16 (Karaburma II – Novi Beograd/Pohorska/),
17 (Konjarnik – Zemun/Gornji grad/),
18 (Medaković III – Zemun/Bačka/),
83 (Crveni krst – Zemun/Bačka/) and
95 (Novi Beograd/Blok 45/ – Borča III) articulated buses (IK-201 and IK-206).

On the night lines:
31 (Studentski trg – Konjarnik),
37 (Trg Republike – Kneževac)
308 ( Slavija – Veliki Mokri Lug)
401 ( Dorćol – Pinosava) and
511 (Trg Republike – Sremčica) engaged solo vehicle (LIAZ).

On workdays in 2009., Belgrade citizens are transported by 59 Lasta’s buses (36 articulated and 23 single) with 1070 departures, on Saturdays – by 42 buses with 756 departures, and on Sundays – by 33 buses with 606 departures. Lasta’s buses make about 16,500 km/day on these lines.

3. Buses:

“Lasta – Public Transport” has a fleet consisting of 67 inventoried vehicles, i.e. 59 vehicles in operation (36 articulated and 23 single) and 8 stand-by vehicles (4 articulated and 4 single).
33 out of 36 articulated buses are new, and the remaining 4 are from the existing fleet up to 2 years old, whereas the single buses are all new. Stand-by buses are from the existing fleet of “Lasta – Suburban Transport” – they, too, up to 2 years old.

Articulated buses are IK-201 and IK -206 type, single buses – IK-103 and LIAZ. All vehicles are equipped with MAN EURO 3 engines and VOITH (864.3E) automatic gearbox, «Ikarbus» chassis, display… Articulated vehicles have 4 doors each, and the capacity for 160 persons (40 seats and 120 standing), and single buses have 3 doors each, and the capacity for 105 persons (30 seats and 75 standing) .

All buses of “Lasta-Public Transport” are technically maintained in the Auto-center of SP “Lasta” a.d. Belgrade, namely: articulated vehicles in the technical maintenance service for suburban transport, and single vehicles in the technical maintenance service for inter-urban transport.

4. Statistics:

Business performance of »Lasta-Public Transport» is best shown through statistical data. According to the data supplied by GSP Planning Sector, which are obtained based on the methodology for estimation of the number of transported passengers, 101 848 574,00 passengers were transported with buses of Lasta’s youngest business organization in the period January 1, 2006 – Juny 30, 2009.

Transport operations duties are carried out by 18 operations officers, while there are 166 drivers in this business organization. All other duties (financial, legal affairs, HR management, technical maintenance, depot and accounting, insurance, safety, fuel, kilometrage traveled, registration, fixed assets, fire and sanitary/technical protection, number of points and computation of salaries, etc.) are carried out in technical services and services of other business organizations within »Lasta»a.d. Belgrade.

High performance is to be credited to all employees, both employees of »Lasta – Public Transport» (transport operations officers and drivers) and employees in various services of other business organizations. Vehicles in excellent technical order contributed to such performance as well, which is to be credited to the technical maintenance services for suburban and inter-urban transport.
